2.3.14-4 Level 2 Tasks

Tasks Applicable Mission Phases Description SFWC Artifacts References
2.3.14-4-1 Ensure design and implementation support the number and mix of personnel (military, civilian, and contractor) authorized and available to train, operate, maintain and support each system acquisition Phase A | Phase B | Phase C | Phase D1 | Ensure that the requirements, contractor products, and testing sufficiently address the acquisition, design and development of the system. This includes both the number and mix of personnel to train, operate, maintain and support the mission requirements. Applies to SE across Ground, Space, User and Factory. NA NA SMC Human Systems Integration (HSI) Policy, 12 Feb 2006 or equivalent; United States Air Force (2009) Human Systems Integration Requirements Pocket Guide, U.S. Air Force Human Systems Integration Office, September 2009; United States Air Force (2010) Air Force Instruction 10-601, Operational Capability Requirements Development, 12 July 2010; Defense Acquisition Guidebook, Chapter 6, 10 January 2012; Air Force Human Systems Integration Handbook (AFHSI) Handbook, Planning and Execution of Human Systems Integration, 21 Jan 2009
2.3.14-4-2 Ensure design and implementation support the knowledge, skills, abilities, experience and aptitudes of personnel required to operate, maintain and support the system at the time it is fielded and throughout its life cycle Phase A | Phase B | Phase C | Phase D1 | Ensure requirements, contractor analysis and design products, and testing are sufficiently addressed in the acquisition, design and development of the system. This includes both the knowledge, skills, abilities, experience and aptitudes required to operate, maintain and support the system at the time it is fielded through the lifecycle. Address any implications for rotation, deployed time, turnover based on the proposed personnel strategy. Ensure that the skills, knowledge base and abilities required by the new system or capability will be available in sufficient numbers within the designated timeframe. Evaluate whether the projected skills required fit within existing specialty codes. Applies to HW, SW, and SE across Ground, Space, User and Factory.
