2.3.16 - Cables and Harnesses

2.3.16-1 Level 2 Tasks

Tasks Applicable Mission Phases Description SFWC Artifacts References
2.3.16-1-1 Ensure contractor defines all cable and harness elements Phase A | Phase B | Phase C | Ensure all elements for cables and harnesses are defined. The elements include but are not limited to: bus harnesses, payload harnesses, unit back harnesses, RF cables, grounding cables, waveguides, etc. Some programs also includes filter boxes and fuse boxes as part of cable and harness. 2.3.16-1-2 Ensure contractor has identified the WBS(s) responsible for the requirements, design, manufacturing, delivery, and performance for all cable and harness elements Phase A | Phase B | Phase C | Ensure each cable and harness element has been assigned to specific WBS(s). NA NA TOR-2006(8506)-4494, Space Vehicle Systems Engineering Handbook, Electrical Power and Distribution chapter, Cabling section
2.3.16-1-3 Ensure contractor has specific giver/receiver dates for all handoffs Phase A | Phase B | Phase C | Phase D1 | Ensure the logistics between WBSs are established with specific giver/receiver date for all handoffs. Handoffs include but are not limited to: requirements for cable and harness design (design standards, contamination, parts and materials, EMI/EMC, survivability, maximum voltage drop, mechanical lengths and minimum bend radius, wire hookups, grounding, performance, weight, etc.), unit pin outs, unit connector types, hardware need dates, etc. NA NA TOR-2006(8506)-4494, Space Vehicle Systems Engineering Handbook, Electrical Power and Distribution chapter, Cabling section
