2.3.2 - Reliability Maintainability Availability

2.3.2-2 Level 2 Tasks

Tasks Applicable Mission Phases Description SFWC Artifacts References
2.3.2-2-1 Ensure reliability program plan and process for managing subcontractor reliability program are assessed Phase A | Phase B | Phase C | Phase D1 | Ensure the contractor monitors and controls supplier/subcontractor progress in meeting reliability program milestones and schedules and takes timely action on and notifies the customer of any reliability, technical, or programmatic problems when warranted. Ensure a coordinated surveillance and control program is coordinated through supplier and subcontractor management. 2.3.2-2-2 Ensure that reliability plans and procedures are adequately implemented and under adequate change control Phase A | Phase B | Phase C | Phase D1 | Ensure plan details how requirements will be met and tailored and modified in accordance with requirements definition through the major milestone reviews. Reliability entrance and exit criteria should be imposed for the system requirements review, the system design review, and the preliminary design review to include government review and approval of the reliability engineering at each major milestone. PDR should include preliminary reliability analysis and demonstration that results were factored into the design. All analyses should be updated with appropriate results and factored in the design by CDR. The plan is formally delivered shortly after ATP and base-lined by SDR. Assess plan elements that address subcontractor management to ensure compliance. Monitor plan execution throughout life cycle of program to ensure compliant with elements specified in plan. Ensure that plan is in place and under adequate configuration change control. 2.3.2-2-3 Ensure identification of reliability risks Phase 0 | Phase A | Phase B | Phase C | Phase D1 | Ensure reliability activity includes identifying and reducing or eliminating program risks associated with system elements that have a significant impact on reliability NA NA SMC-S-013, Reliability Program for Space Systems, 13 June 2008 (also published as TOR-2007(8583)-6889 under same title) or equivalent
2.3.2-2-4 Ensure contractor demonstrates reliability engineering skills to perform specific reliability engineering and evaluation tasks Phase A | Phase B | Phase C | Phase D1 | Phase D2 | Ensure the contractor organization includes the interface between the reliability organization and the responsibilities of each program discipline necessary to accomplish the reliability tasks. Assess contractor directives, methods, and procedures that will be used in the implementation of reliability tasks and the appropriate skill set exist to execute.
