4.4.8 - Propulsion Subsystem (PS)

4.4.8-11 Level 2 Tasks

Tasks Applicable Mission Phases Description SFWC Artifacts References
4.4.8-11-1 Ensure flight readiness of the subsystem Phase D1 | Ensure all plans are complete for operational testing and that critical liens are closed or have a path to closure. NA NA Space Vehicle Test and Evaluation Handbook, TOR-2011(8591)-2
4.4.8-11-2 Ensure proper launch site processing procedures are complete Phase D1 | Evaluate test plans and testing after integration with launch vehicle to ensure that integration and the launch pad environment will not cause any damage. Ensure that launch rehearsals address planned procedures and contingency operations. NA NA Space Vehicle Test and Evaluation Handbook, TOR-2011(8591)-2
4.4.8-11-3 Ensure proper plans, procedures and tools are in place to support early operations Phase D1 | Ensure rehearsals address planned procedures and contingency operations, and that any issues found during rehearsals are tracked to closure prior to actual use. NA NA Space Vehicle Test and Evaluation Handbook, TOR-2011(8591)-2
4.4.8-11-4 Ensure on-orbit anomalies are reviewed for reach-back Phase B | Phase C | Phase D1 | Phase D2 | Phase D3 | Ensure that anomalies from both in-system (common program) and cross-systems (supporting or parallel programs and services) are evaluated and considered in the event of on-orbit anomalies. Disposition of the anomaly must consider reachback, reach across and reach forward. Final disposition should be entered into a lessons learned database as appropriate to the security level of the anomaly and program. NA NA Space Vehicle Test and Evaluation Handbook, TOR-2011(8591)-2
4.4.8-11-5 Ensure independent simulation models are available or built as needed to support anomalies or launch training Phase B | Phase C | Phase D1 | Phase D2 | Phase D3 | Ensure applicability of models for use in system OPS if models generated for program. NA NA Space Vehicle Systems Engineering Handbook, TOR-2006(8506)-4494
4.4.8-11-6 Ensure propellants have been stored and handled appropriately Phase D1 | Ensure that the propellants loaded into the vehicle meet all specification requirements such that the mission needs are maintained. NA NA Space Vehicle Systems Engineering Handbook, TOR-2006(8506)-4494; Operational Aspects of Spacecraft Propellant Quality: Where, When, and Why of Sampling and How to Assess Issues, ATR-2016-01393
