Ensure space vehicle and payload configurations facilitate ease of assembly, integration, test and access for replacement/rework to the extent possible. Reconcile as-built configurations with the drawings and other design information. Ensure alignment of critical payload components are arranged to allow verification during integration and test activities. Ensure the payload mass, center of gravity and moments of inertia for all three axes meet the requirements for each payload and do not impact other payloads.

Ensure the required dimensioned volumes are defined and recorded in interface documents and drawings. Such requirements should make allowances for alignment tolerances and dynamic response, as necessary. Dimensioned volumes are typically driven by the launch vehicle fairing. Ensure call out of payload alignment requirements separately from payload stability requirements. Ensure inclusion of provisions to permit alignment and adjustment of critical tolerances with respect to payload elements, where appropriate. Ensure the space vehicle team understands the derivation of forcing functions used in the coupled loads analysis to correctly evaluate results.
